Utah Cosmetology Licensing Requirements
In order to obtain a license in Barbering, Cosmetology, Esthetics, Electrology, or Nail Technology, in the state of Utah, individuals must complete the requirements listed below. Other requirements may apply.
Cosmetology: 2000 hours
Esthetician: 600 hours
Electrologist: 600 hours
Nail Technologist: 300 hours
Barber: 1000 hours
Licensing Fee Schedule: (Fees subject to change)
Cosmetology Application Fee: $60 Renewal Fee: $52
Esthetician Application Fee: $60 Renewal Fee: $52
Electrologist Application Fee: $50 Renewal Fee: $32
Nail Technologist Application Fee: $60 Renewal Fee: $52
Barber Application Fee: $60 Renewal Fee: $52

Reciprocity is granted to individuals from states with requirements which are substantially equal to, or greater than, those of Utah.
