Hawaii Cosmetology Licensing Requirements

In order to obtain a license in Cosmetology, Nail Technology, Hairdressing, Esthetics, or Barbering in the state of Hawaii, individuals must complete the requirements listed below. Other requirements may apply.
Cosmetologist: 1800 Hours (apprenticeship: 3600 hours)
Barbering: 1500 hours
Hairdressing: 1250 Hours (apprenticeship: 2500 hours)
Esthetician: 600 Hours (apprenticeship: 1100 hours)
Nail Technician: 350 Hours (apprenticeship: 700 hours)
